FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW YORK, NY — Alebrije Press, a NYC-based illustration and design studio, today announced the release of its third installment of it's critically acclaimed title, Frayed Ends. This semi-autobiographical tale continues the story written and illustrated by award-winning designer Jason Brightman. “We all run at first,” says Brightman, “it's the immediate reaction to the all consuming pain of not being loved by someone we love. It's a great defensive mechanism at first”. Frayed Ends #3 continues Paul's attempts at dealing with the harsh exit of the love of his life, he has happily embraced avoidance and raised distraction to an Art form. But while you can remove nearly anyone from a picture of reality, one person will always remain and not even Paul’s eager childhood imaginary friend can ultimately save him from facing himself. “Reality always wins,“ asserts Brightman, “because we can't escape ourselves and deep down whether we like to admit it or not we always know the truth. But we have to go through the process before we can accept it. Honesty hurts sometimes especially when we're being honest with ourselves. This issue is filled with that brutal messy painful honesty that's so personal, but infinitely relatable”. Frayed Ends #3 will be released in September 2002; 24 pages with a four-color card stock cover with black and white interiors.
